A vacation well-spent
After taking a 3-day vacation last week in the City of Pines, Baguio.
I can share to you 10 tens to make it a well-spent vacation.
Here are the things you should and should not do..
1. File you leave early.
as much as possible try to look forward on how many days you need to give yourself a well-deserve break. always think PLUS ONE. meaning plus one day,just in case na magkasarapan at gustong nyong mag extend and also to give yourself time to adjust from VACATION mode to WORK mode again. I applied for my leave last July 1-3 plus my 2-days off.
2. Bring along your close friends.
there is no better vacation if you spend it with your close friends.imagine the loads of fun you'll gonna get. Our attendance list is consist of the ff pips. me,Pilo,Mike,Bonna,Meg,Bevs,Noc and Pinggoy. Next time we hope that everybody can come. so we really have to consider,and these serves everyone, reminder number one.
3. Research. Plan where to go.
know the place, travelling time,places you can stay, eating out,historical and tourist spots, where you can buy pasalubongs, the specialty.everything you can research about the place. Honestly, it was my first time in Baguio, so all of my friends are far more excited than me. I have mentally listed the places i wanna go. Mines View park, camp john hay,etc. name it. I was not able to go to all of it but needless to say, my stay is still very much enjoable.
4. Assign tasks.
if you are going on vacation as a group,assign task prior, and make sure that every one is adhering to the task assign. all of us want to have a stress-free vacation so make sure that all task like marketing,cooking,cleaning,washing the dishes,driving,etc. are equally distributed to all. if some does not want to cook or clean,might as well check in hotels so they can avoid it.
5.Consider the weather.
Bad weather can ruin the whole vacation.So make sure that the weather is manageable. squeezed in 2 cars, we left Manila at around 4am,it was a bit rainy, we arrived as baguio at around 10am,and it was all bright and sunny, too bad..becoz during the late afternoon, we experienced rainshowers and foggy afternoons but make the most out of the day.that's when number 8 comes handy.
6. New experience.
I was a bit dissappointed when all i want to avoid when we went up to baguio are those places or foods that we have back in Manila. i'll been droolling over Ruiens (im not sure if i spelled it right) that Mike has been telling me about, i was esctatic and really want to see the place, but ended up in Starbuck's Baguio (camp john hay). no,no,no. next time i should not be that way. make sure that everyone are all up to new experiences ,or at least the new ones like me, to mark the place that you visit.it could be something you'll remember when you go back home.
7. Travel light.Mark your things.-
Yes, definitely so you can avoid the hussles of bringing in heavy luggages and still have enough room for the pasalubong of some sorts. essentials can be the ff : Hairdryer for Bevs, hair iron/straighter for meg, digicamera for bonna, trust-worthy phones for pilo (for emergency calls in the office), mp3 for me (official dj), guitar for mike (official musikero) car for noc ( for emergency like duplicating a broken key on the last day of vacation) food for pinggoy, medicines etc etc. recycle clothes, bring sachets instead of bottled shampoos and conditioners.
lastly...mark your things...so that using the same toothbrush (like me and my tartar twin mike)...
8. Bring along a book,an mp3 player,guitar,some wines,etc.
these things my come in handy during the trip and long rainy afternoons. a good book or a portable dvd player for long rides. mp3 player for instant dance party like the you-tube worthy stunt of mike,noc and pinggoy.( and to avoid conversations like bevz), guitar for photo-opt props and its real purpose,impromptu sing-a-long and song writing.
9. Emergency numbers.
Like the nearest water-delivery station. so that everybody can take a bath.. hahaha
10. Relax.relax.relax.
you went on vacation to relax and have an at least worry-free 3-days. so make sure you finish all task before going on vacation regardless if its business,school or work. break free from all your worries.

Digital cameras are essentials to capture the moment and all the shameful things you can only do in front of your secretive friends.
